A new virus-tainted spam that targets the 400 million users of Facebook is spreading the net. This virus will steal banking passwords and gather sensitive information.
According to anti-virus software maker McAfee Inc., A Facebook user will receive an email that his password on their FB account has been reset and he will be urged to click on the an attachment to obtain a new login credentials. Once you click it, numerous type of malicious software including password stealing program will start to download.
McAfee estimates tens of millions of spam across Europe, U.S. and Asia have been spread out by the hackers since Tuesday and will likely to succeed to infect millions of computers.
Facebook on the other hand, could not comment on this case but the give warnings to their users about the spoofed email saying, “Facebook password reset confirmation customer support.” They are advising to delete the email and warn their Facebook friends at once.
