According to coach Freddie Roach, if things still don’t work out with Floyd Mayweather Jr., he would pick undefeated Edwin Valero to be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent.
Roach said that he know Valero for being a big puncher, a southpaw and does pose some difficulties. For Roach, the Venezuelan boxer is more feasible than Antonio Margarito of Mexico and also the best marketable fight out there for them. Because unlike Valero, the Mexican boxer has no license to fight in Texas where they could sell out the whole place.
Aside from Valero, Pacquiao’s coach is also thinking of a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez since Pacquiao had 2 close fights with him. Roach wants to see Pacquiao knocking down Marquez for their next fight.
