Microsoft Introduces New “Kin” Phone for Social Generation

A new Window-based phone was introduced by Microsoft and it’s called the “Kin” and was made possible through partnerships with Verizon, Vodafone and Sharp. It is designed specifically for people who are “actively navigating” their social lives. It features new “breakthrough” experiences such as the Loop, Spot and Studio.

  • Kin Loop is always up to date and always on. It shows all the things that are happening in someone’s social world. It gets its feeds from Facebook, MySpace and Twitter.
  • Spot allows Kin users to focus on the “people and stuff” they would like to share such as videos, photos, text messages, Web pages, location and status updates. Just simply drag them to Spot.
  • Studio automatically backs up texts, call history, photos, videos and contacts while simultaneously populating a personalized digital journal. (more…)

BlackBerry Losing Its Magic

smartphonesAccording to surveys, many BlackBerry users are willing to switch to Apple Inc.’s (AAPL) iPhone or Google Inc.’s (GOOG) Nexus One in which the 39% of BlackBerry users said they “definitely or probably would” nab an iPhone and one-third of them said they’d snatch up an Android phone.

BlackBerry was used by tech-savvy executives who are using it for their jobs but only 7% of them still use the device for work. Since the birth of smartphones, the BlackBerry, the Palm Treos and the Windows Mobile devices weren’t able to coped up with Apple’s or Android’s smartphone technology. (more…)

Windows Phone 7 Series to compete Apple iPhone

Windows-Phone-7-SeriesWindows Phone 7 series is out. This is the newest version of Microsoft mobile. It was introduced at Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. Everything on the phone is brand new.

The new Microsoft mobile has a completely altered home screen and user interface experience. The device is integrated with Xbox LIVE (which includes LIVE games, avatars and profiles) and Zune ( including FM radio) and with new and improved social networking tools.

Its interface is designed as a tile hub-based and divided into 6 hubs which include People, Pictures, Games, Music and Video, Marketplace and Office. You can navigate and explore the features in each hub. Its tiles can be scroll vertically and can be customized as quick launches, links to contacts or self contained widgets. (more…)
