BlackBerry Losing Its Magic

smartphonesAccording to surveys, many BlackBerry users are willing to switch to Apple Inc.’s (AAPL) iPhone or Google Inc.’s (GOOG) Nexus One in which the 39% of BlackBerry users said they “definitely or probably would” nab an iPhone and one-third of them said they’d snatch up an Android phone.

BlackBerry was used by tech-savvy executives who are using it for their jobs but only 7% of them still use the device for work. Since the birth of smartphones, the BlackBerry, the Palm Treos and the Windows Mobile devices weren’t able to coped up with Apple’s or Android’s smartphone technology. (more…)

Google TV

google_tvGoogle is banding with Intel and Sony to come up with a Web content platform product for your own living room which they called Google TV. This will be available as a set-top box or as part of a Web-capable television and would be based on Google’s mobile operating system called Android including a version of Google Chrome for Web applications use such as Twitter or Picasa.

This summer, Google will provide an application development toolkit for Google TV and will offer an online marketplace as what Android smartphones do. They are also planning to develop peripheral devices for Google TV such as a remote with a small keyboard. When it comes to advertising, they make it sure that “search and advertising system” will be prioritized.    (more…)

Google creates people finder to help find Chilean earthquake victims. This tool will help friends and relatives to find loved ones missing after the earthquake.

To use this tool, those who either have information about a person involved in the earthquake, or are searching for someone involved, can simply click “I’m looking for someone” or “I have information about someone.”

Google to launch network site to rival Facebook and Twitter
