  • Focusing on the Future: According to a study, regular planning or looking forward to an upcoming events could reduced a 50% risk of Alzheimer’s disease. But your calendar doesn’t need to overflow with events, you can set a goal of having a weekly coffee date with a friend and keeping it will do. Those things can keep us motivated. According to a survey by the pharmaceutical company Eli Lily, it takes 6 years for people to get treated for mood disorders.

Suffering in silence is a bad idea and failing to seek help for anxiety or depression is downright dangerous. The longer you wait, the worse things can get. Untreated anxiety can turn into depression and vice versa.

How To Become an Optimist

With today’s global recession, people need to be more positive than ever before. This is the right time to show optimism or nurture positive-thinking, especially if you’re a glass-half-empty person. Gigantic Fireball Appeared in Midwestern Skies

A large fireball from meteor shower turns night into day and landed in southwest corner of Wisconsin, rattling houses and causing trees and the ground to shake. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

According to some witnesses, the meteor lit up the sky about 10:00 pm Wednesday. National Weather Service offices in the Midwest said that it was visible from southwestern Wisconsin and northern Iowa to central Missouri.

Radar information suggests the meteor landed in the southwest corner of Wisconsin though no one reported seeing a meteorite or crater. Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley said he received tons of reports of a very bright light in the sky followed by houses and the ground shaking. (more…)

A New Specie of Giant Lizard Found in the Philippines

It was concluded that a giant golden-spotted monitor lizard discovered in the forested Sierra Madre mountains in the Philippines 6 years ago is a new species. This 6.5 foot (2 meters) monster lizard was first spotted in 2004 when local researchers saw a local Agta tribesman carrying one of the dead reptiles.

It is called the Northern Sierra Madre Forest Monitor Lizard or Varanus bitatawa. It feasts on fruits and snails unlike its larger relative, the Komodo dragon, that feasts on carcasses. It spends much of its time in the treetops and has a unique claws that allows it to reach its favorite fruits. (more…)
