Gigantic Fireball Appeared in Midwestern Skies

A large fireball from meteor shower turns night into day and landed in southwest corner of Wisconsin, rattling houses and causing trees and the ground to shake. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

According to some witnesses, the meteor lit up the sky about 10:00 pm Wednesday. National Weather Service offices in the Midwest said that it was visible from southwestern Wisconsin and northern Iowa to central Missouri.

Radar information suggests the meteor landed in the southwest corner of Wisconsin though no one reported seeing a meteorite or crater. Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley said he received tons of reports of a very bright light in the sky followed by houses and the ground shaking. (more…)

China Earthquake Raises Questions, Concerns

Tuesday’s massive earthquake in western China has left hundreds dead and thousands more injured. Both of those numbers are expected to rise in the coming days, as many victims are still trapped under collapsed buildings and rubble. Below, some of the most frequently asked questions surrounding the devastating earthquake.

Where in China was it?
The earthquake was centered near the Qinghai Province in western China. That is located right next to Tibet, the mountainous homeland of the Dalai Llama. While many people who live outside of China are aware of the country’s major cities on its east coast, far fewer have any understanding of the land’s geography out west. The Harry Potter Theme Park’s Concept Art and Photos

Universal Studios Orlando revealed concept art and photos for the Harry Potter Theme Park called “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” The theme park was based around the Hogwarts and all the other cool places described in J.K. Rowling’s books and for the first time, the details about the park’s signature attraction have been revealed for the first time. The public grand opening of  “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will be open on June 8.

A New Specie of Giant Lizard Found in the Philippines

It was concluded that a giant golden-spotted monitor lizard discovered in the forested Sierra Madre mountains in the Philippines 6 years ago is a new species. This 6.5 foot (2 meters) monster lizard was first spotted in 2004 when local researchers saw a local Agta tribesman carrying one of the dead reptiles.

It is called the Northern Sierra Madre Forest Monitor Lizard or Varanus bitatawa. It feasts on fruits and snails unlike its larger relative, the Komodo dragon, that feasts on carcasses. It spends much of its time in the treetops and has a unique claws that allows it to reach its favorite fruits. (more…)

Lin Yu Chun Is The New Susan Boyle

After his video became a huge hit in YouTube, Lin Yu Chun from Taiwan is already being called “The Chinese Susan Boyle”. The reason behind this is that, this young boy’s song is a near-perfect sound-alike of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” with barely a hint of an accent. Like Susan Boyle, Chun has come seemingly out of nowhere.

The video already has over 150,000 views and searches for “Lin Yu Chun” have gone up over 200% in the past 24 hours. Expect to see him become an international sensation just like Charice Pempengco and Justin Bieber.

Huge Waves Hit a Cruise Ship and Kill 2 Passengers

Breaking News:

Cruise-ShipMarch 4 – Barcelona, Spain. A 26 foot wave hit a Mediterranean cruise ship on Wednesday carrying 1,350 passengers and 580 crew members. The monstrous waves flooded people’s cabins, smashed the glass windshields, terrified the passengers and killed two passengers (14 were slightly hurt).

The cruise ship is 680 feet (207 meters) long, and features 10 passenger decks and 732 staterooms along with various bars, pools, restaurants and shops. (more…)

Google creates people finder to help find Chilean earthquake victims. This tool will help friends and relatives to find loved ones missing after the earthquake.

To use this tool, those who either have information about a person involved in the earthquake, or are searching for someone involved, can simply click “I’m looking for someone” or “I have information about someone.”

No More Tsunami Threats

This will be a great news to all! All tsunami warnings are now canceled in all affected countries. No more tsunami threats and everyone is safe.

We just hope and pray that Chilians would quickly recover from this catastrophe.

First Tsunami Reaches Japan

Breaking News:

The first tsunami from Chile’s earthquake reaches Japan’s outlying island. Luckily, the waves are small with 10 centimeters high. There were no reports of damage. However, a bigger wave could reach Japan’s main islands in about 1:30 p.m. local time with up to 9 feet (3 meters) high. People from low-lying areas were asked to seek higher ground.
